ISFP: The Peacemaker © Louise Joachimowski 2009 Lyrics

Close Enough

Does it spring up from the ground, does it fall like snow around?

Does it float on lofty wings or shoot an arrow to your heart?

Does it swell from inner worlds, a creeping tide of bluest sea?

Does it stumble across our path, a hopeful stab at deeper meaning?

So hold on to me, let your eyes be free to see what you will be,

Time tests your smile, but courage grits her teeth,

She’ll do more than grin and bear it.

My desire, my desire is that you dream,

My desire, my desire is that you dream.

You are more than black and white, there is colour to your sight.

Down the rosy garden path, there is softness to the night.

In and out of shadow’s gaze to the waiting lover’s kiss,

As the moonlight slowly pales you are close enough to feel this.

So hold on to me, let your eyes be free to see what you will be,

Time tests your smile, but courage grits her teeth,

She’ll do more than grin and bear it.

My desire, my desire is that you dream,

My desire, my desire is that you dream.

My desire, my desire is that you dream,

My desire, my desire is that you dream.

So hold on to me, let your eyes be free,

Time tests your smile, but wisdom grits her teeth,

She’ll do more than grin and bear it.

My desire, my desire…

My desire, my desire is that you dream,

My desire, my desire is that you dream.

Between the Trees

There she sits, tear on her cheek on her face on her first day,

Tear in her eye in her cry in that lonely place,

The cool space between the trees.

It was her first bliss, over and over and underneath her timid lips,

Sun on her hand, on her hair on their intimaters,

The cool space between the trees.

But the sun still shines there, the grass still grows and flowers dare to show their face,

But the saddest part for her is another pair will lie there,

In love, in love, in lucky love.

Photo perfect, life through a lens well it always depends on the light you let,

Don’t be deceived by the colours you see in that tempting place,

The cool space between the trees,

Well is it worth it, to give up yourself just to please someone else who doesn’t deserve it?

Tear in her eye in her cry in that oh so lonely place,

The cool place between the trees.

But the sun still shines there, the grass still grows and flowers dare to show their face,

But the saddest part for her is another pair will lie there,

In love, in love, in lucky love.

Well if love is patient, why didn’t he wait,

If love is kind, why couldn’t he find the time,

If love keeps no record, then why does he remember the time and the time?

Well there is only one love for you,

There is only one that is true,

There is only one love and you won’t find it between the trees.

Your Way - For Amanda

Your heart’s as steady as the moving in and out of the ocean,

Tides kept in perfect motion by the rhythm of our silver moon,

Your beauty has a quiet strength that is not widely understood,

And now it’s standing on the battle ground just waiting to be proved.

Because his face in looking your way, coz you’ve been chosen to say,

And the wind is blowing your way to pull their faces out of grey,

And these things are coming your way for which a price, there’s a higher price to pay.

Thick waxy leaves collect the raindrops, reflect the sunlight shining through,

You can almost hear the roots expanding, passing water to the shoots,

Such is the position your planted in, you’re growing in,

And know that the flower that you’ve always longed to see in surely gonna bloom.

Because his face is looking your way, coz you’ve been chosen to say,

And the wind is blowing your way to pull their faces out of grey,

And these things are coming your way for which a price, there’s a higher price to pay.

So count her fingers one by one, fill her bag with things you’ve done.

Gift her mind with wise words from the years you’ve walked, who you’ve become,

Gift her heart with kind words that open her hands and close the cracks,

Gift her life with life from yours, our of place that knows,

His face is looking your way, coz you’ve been chosen to say,

And the wind is blowing your way to pull their faces out of grey,

And these things are coming your way for which a price, there’s a higher price,

A higher price, a higher price to pay.

Hold On

So who is first in the firing line?

Who will be weak enough to say those words?

I’m vulnerable, you seem so strong,

Although you’re new here at least you’re set in your ways, your ways, his ways,

Hold on, hold on,

I hold on to the hole that you left,

And I know, I know that you love more than I expect,

But what will you do, when will you say,

How will you promise my heart will stay,

Where should we be, blissfully happy,

But how do you know that we won’t fall.

We started out as just a lie,

Before we knew it, our souls got tied up, hearts got messed up,

I’m separated you seem so fixed,

Although you’re new here, at least you’re set in your ways, your ways, his ways,

Hold on, hold on,

I hold on to the hole that you left,

And I know, I know that you love more than I expect,

But what will you do, when will you say,

How will you promise my heart will stay,

Where should we be, blissfully happy,

But how do you know that we won’t fall.

I was leading you I was the one who had this all thought through but then I fell through,

I was leading you I was the one who had this all thought through but then I fell through,

I was leading you I was the one who had this all thought through but then I fell through,

I shot us in the foot, I played all of my excuses, and now I pray that I haven’t lost you.

And what will you do, when will you say

How will you promise my heart will stay,

Where should we be, blissfully happy,

But how do you know that we won’t fall.

What will you do, when will you say,

And how will you promise my heart, will you promise my heart,

Where should we be, blissfully happy,

But how do you know that we won’t fall, that we won’t fall, that we won’t fall.

To Wait For

He is the green of the grass, the blue of the sky,

The white of the snow, black of an eye,

He is the icing on the cake, the stitch that save nine,

The puzzle’s final piece, last equation line,

He’s someone to wait for, he won’t jump on the next white flag,

Tongue in cheek, no understanding,

He’s someone to look for, someone to stand for.

Yet he won’t shout his name, he won’t blow his own trumpet,

He’ll stand in the crowd and let them carry the drum,

It’s so refreshing to see that though he’s under my skin,

He still allows me to finish yet even more to begin,

He’s someone to wait for, he won’t jump on the next white flag,

Tongue in cheek, no understanding,

He’s someone to look for, someone to stand for.

He’s the one that I can’t ignore,

He’s the one that I waited for,

He’s the one that I waited for,

I waited to hold, I waited to be his alone,

I waited to kiss, I waited to miss.

He is the warmth of a sunset, the strength of amen,

The joy of him coming back,

Green of the grass, blue of the sky,

White of the snow, apple of my eye.

Monument

Is there a power in the piles of stone that stand in the desert to this day?

Majestic yet crooked, proud and tall, telling their tales of eternity

Teaching with a straight up and down,

A lone lighthouse speaking light to the ground,

But round here there’s no one who sees.

They’re monuments to time to trust, truth to grace,

People won and people they lost,

They’re promises to wizened eyes who saw these things that now only stones remember.

Is there a power in my keeping of dates and times and photos

and wise words that occasionally shaped my life and do they actually

Promise me a straight up and down?

These lone lighthouses speaking light to the ground,

But round here there’s no one, there’s no one who sees

They’re monuments to time to trust, truth to grace,

people won and people they lost,

They’re promises to wizened eyes who saw these things that now only stones remember.

Will you remember?

Will you remember?

The truth is wasted on us, it’s wasted on us.

The truth is wasted on us, it’s wasted on us.

The truth is wasted on us, it’s wasted on us.

The truth is wasted on us, it’s wasted on us.

Teaching with a straight up and down,

A lone lighthouse speaking light to the ground,

But round here there’s no one, there’s no one who sees.

Perfume

A deadly hush falls as a lady pushes her way to the front of the crowd.

She walks along a tightrope of tension, and her steps are small.

And her tears are her perfume,

And her hair prepares the tomb,

And her clean heart reaches out.

He makes no apology for her,

Allows this outsider to pour her heart out in front of the crowd of insiders,

While he seems to enjoy her.

And her tears are her perfume,

And her hair prepares the tomb,

And her clean heart reaches out.

She whispers please don’t break me,

Please don’t make me walk that road I’ve been down before,

Please accept me, don’t reject me.

She goes in peace, in pieces… in peace… pieces…

A Little Closer

Come a little closer to the light, closer to the light,

It’s not so crowded in here, not so dark in here,

Come a little closer to the fire, closer to the fire,

It’s not so crowded in here, not so cold in here.

Oh what you could become following your son,

What you could achieve down here on your knees,

What wonders you would find, if only you’d decide.

Take a little look back at your life, a look through different eyes,

And all the air that you breathed – is it all that you dreamed?

Your a little closer to the night, further out of sight,

Inch thick, knee deep, shoulder height, inches from being right,

Oh the language that you speak, the people that you meet,

Do not disqualify from sitting at his right,

What wonders you would find, if only you’d decide to sit here next to me.

Oh undermine your pride, find that humble side,

Don’t let that clock tick by, don’t let those days float by.

Undermine your pride, find that humble side,

Don’t let that clock tick by, don’t let those days float by.

Oh what you could become following your son,

What you could achieve down here on your knees,

What wonders you would find, if only you’d decide.
